Victor Shum will be discussing the outlook for global crude oil markets and the profitability of the Asian petroleum refining industry.   

Victor Shum is a Managing Director at IHS Purvin & Gertz. He is the manager of the Singapore office and leads downstream energy consulting in the Asia-Pacific region. He has over 25 years of international oil industry experience. His consulting experience includes working with senior management teams on strategy, growth, operations and organizational issues. He has extensive on-the-ground project experience in China, India, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Purvin & Gertz in 1996, he was employed by Amoco Oil for over 10 years in a variety of commercial and technical positions. He holds an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Northwestern University.
